WILLIAMSVILLE, NY — Harris Hill Nursing Facility is pleased to be hosting a celebration on Friday, August 29th at 2:30 pm, in honor of resident Jean Weinstein’s 102nd birthday. She was born on August 8, 1923, in Buffalo, NY, to George and Christina Costuros. Jean has lived a life filled with kindness, positivity and devotion to family and community.

Jean met her husband, Elia (“Lovie”), at the Mayflower Restaurant in downtown Buffalo, where he was a donut maker. He later owned his own business selling restaurant equipment. The couple married in 1952 and shared a long, loving marriage until Elia’s passing in 2014.

Together, they raised two daughters: Mary Weinstein Singer of Florida and Elaine Weinstein of Buffalo.

A dedicated homemaker, Jean’s life centered around family, faith and service. She is a long-time member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Ladies Society. She is known for her unwavering positivity, encouraging spirit and her compassion—especially toward animals, having cared for many homeless cats over the years.

Jean is an avid reader, having read every Danielle Steel novel, and she enjoys keeping up with current events in the Buffalo News. She is also a regular at facility Bingo games. To her granddaughter, she holds the highest title of all: “The Best Grandmother in the World.”
