Amber A. Wiehe, LMSW, LNHA, serves as Administrator at Northgate Health Care Facility. Since joining the organization in March 2019, Amber has held a variety of leadership positions across multiple facilities, bringing a broad perspective and extensive experience in long-term care operations. Throughout her career within the organization, she has served as Director of Social Work and Interim Administrator at Garden Gate, Assistant Administrator at Autumn View Health Care Facility, and Administrator at both Allegany and Gasport facilities.
Amber earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo. Her background in social work has shaped her leadership style, emphasizing relationship-building, advocacy, and a resident-centered approach to care. She currently serves as Vice President of the Western Region for the New York State Health Facilities Association (NYSHFA), where she contributes to advancing quality and innovation within the long-term care profession.
One of Amber’s favorite aspects of her role is empowering and coaching staff to create a positive workplace culture. She believes that when employees feel supported, valued, and engaged, residents ultimately benefit through enhanced care and overall well-being. Her leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, accountability, and fostering environments where both residents and team members can thrive.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys cooking Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, learning about ancient civilizations and religions, and exploring ways to promote equity and inclusion in her daily life and community.
